Just like your idols and gurus who have spent years honing their craft, you too will build these skills over time. So rather than overwhelming yourself with elaborate campaigns right away, let’s meet you where you are – with a plan designed for beginners.

Step 1: Create a No-Brainer Offer

Begin with a simple, low stakes offer that’s so appealing it practically sells itself. . How do you do this?

  • Make it a steal! By pricing your offer at a low, you reduce the barrier for entry and make it easier for people to say ‘yes’.
  • Keep it small and specific. Let’s not aim to solve the world’s problems in one go.The idea is to create an offer that is easily digestible and doesn’t require extensive resources from your end.
  • Be transparent with your audience, let them know it’s a new product and still evolving. People love getting in early so you can even market this as a founder’s discount or beta offer. 
  • Don’t create the entire product before you sell it. If it sells well, go ahead and develop it further. If not, you’ve saved yourself time and effort but still learnt something. 

Step 2: A Simple Sales Page

Forget fancy sales pages for now; a Google Doc will do just fine. It’s simple, clear, and gets the job done. Just make sure it’s clear, concise, and includes all necessary information like what the offer is, why it’s valuable, and how someone can buy it. Sometimes simplicity leads to higher engagement.

 

Step 3: Leverage Your Networks

Don’t be shy to ask for support from your immediate networks. Reach out to friends, family, and colleagues. You’d be surprised how eager people can be to help someone they know. Also, post about your offer on your social media platforms and ask your connections to spread the word.

 

Step 4: Promote with Honesty and Directness

Now is the time to shout about your offer from the rooftops or, at least from your digital platforms. Be open about your excitement and communicate the value your offer provides. Reach out personally to people who engage with your content – they might only need a little nudge to convert into your first customers. 

 

Step 5: Keep Sharing, Keep Asking

Don’t lose heart if you don’t hit your target sales immediately. t’s a numbers game, and chances are most of your followers or email subscribers haven’t even seen your posts yet due to all the noise out there. Many sales often happen towards the end of a promotional period, so it’s critical to keep putting your offer out there.

 

Launching your first sale is both exciting and scary, but it shouldn’t be overwhelming. By starting small and keeping things simple, you’re building a strong foundation of skills to draw from.
