Things You’ll Learn in this Episode of Doing it Online:
- How you can do better, go bigger and take things to the next level in 2021
- 3 of my favourite ways you can uplevel your business this year
The start of the year is the perfect time for a fresh start and a boost of motivation. This is when you’re planning all of things – how you can do better, go bigger and take things to the next level.
So to help you do that, I’m sharing 3 of my favourite ways you can uplevel your business this year. These simple and often overlooked things will help you to make your business more professional, run smoother, be less stressful and of course…make you more money!
So let’s begin!
Uplevel #1 – Upgrade some of your tech
This is one of the simplest changes you can make right now…but it’s often one of the scariest too.
I want you to identify somewhere in your business that you can upgrade or simplify your tech.
There is always room for improvement right?
What usually happens with your tech stack (your unique combination of software and tools for your biz) – is that you start by adding piece by piece as you need them.
You usually start with the cheapest or free option. Then when you add more software and tools, they sometimes don’t work well together or create the desired outcome you were looking for.
So you end up with an overly complicated mess of technology that causes you more frustrations than it’s worth – things like customer service issues, pieces not talking to each other properly or simple tasks taking longer than they should.
Now is the time to take a look at your existing tech stack. Cast a critical eye over it.
I don’t ever recommend changing tech just for the sake of changing tech – but if:
- You started your website years ago and you did a DIY theme and things keep breaking
- Your course is hosted in a platform that always has issues
- You’re having to do a lot of things manually
- And perhaps if you invested a little bit more in a system or software that is simpler and allows you to do more in the one place
If these resonate with you…then this tip is for you!
You may feel some resistance around upgrading, but once you do…you’ll wish you’d done it sooner!
The system upgrade will probably be a higher investment than what you have right now, BUT it’s going to save you so much time, stress and create a better experience for your clients. That $20-$30 extra a month will be so so worth it for you AND your clients!
Identifying the features and the functions you need will help you to upgrade or simplify your tech and that will ultimately help you to uplevel your business this year.
Uplevel #2 – Find at least 5 hours of your time you can outsource
This is something I like to do regularly in my business throughout the year – even more so at the start of a new year.
Sit down and list out all of the tasks that you do regularly. Then try to find at least 5 hours worth of tasks that you can outsource…and then outsource them.
Look to outsource tasks that aren’t in your zone of genius or that you don’t love doing.
When you do this regularly, you free up more time to spend working on the big picture stuff in your business.
A super simple exercise to help you uplevel your business.
Uplevel #3 – Focus on delivery and making your program as simple and straightforward and supportive as possible
Another yearly task for you to do to uplevel your business, is to review your current programs and focus on how you can make them:
- Simpler
- More straightforward
- More supportive
Think about what you can remove, add, explain better as well as the questions that your clients continually ask and use that to update and overhaul where needed.
This is going to improve your overall client experience AND the number of people who finish your programs and get results. The happier your clients are and are out in the world talking about how great you are – the more new clients you will attract!
These 3 tips will help you to uplevel your business. They’re also all something you could do in 2-3 hours RIGHT NOW. When you make a point of scheduling in the time to do them, they’ll make a massive impact on your business.
