Things You’ll Learn in this Episode of Doing it Online:
- How you can elevate your business with funnel-building. (We’re talking 10X, not just a $5 pay rise.)
- How you can avoid the launch-zillas of the internet and be valued for the strategic, highly-skilled expert you are…
Funnels can be kind of addictive, so we totally get that.
But lately, I’ve noticed a trend in questions coming my way. Because I’ve been hearing from a lot of people who’ve loved building their own funnels with us and are thinking of adding funnel-building to their services.
And guess what? Right now, the demand for funnels is growing…
But! There’s this huge gap in the market, of people who can actually step in and build them.
Not just the tech and actually building it, but someone who knows the strategy AND the tech. Someone who can advise people on the bigger picture.
And these people? They’ll be the unicorns of the internet. Or, as we’ve termed them…
…Funnel Pro’s.
So, not only do we chat together over the pro’s + con’s of becoming a Funnel Pro, but I’m also creating a couple of awesome resources and tools for the Funnel-Pro-Curious out there…
If you want to nab them, then head to beafunnelpro.com and pop in your details and I will send you them all when they’re done!
But for now, let’s get into the episode and we’ll break down the pro’s and con’s of stepping up and niching down, as a Funnel Pro…
Pro’s
You get to help people build really valuable assets…
People underestimate how powerful this can be. But building an asset (in this case a funnel) that could be adding 6, 7, or even 8 figures to that businesses’ bottom line? That’s hugely valuable – (Game-changing. Life-changing!) – to your clients and of course, feels amazing to you as a service provider.
The demand for Funnel Pro’s is increasing…
Thanks to recent months of seeing our world turn upside-down, the idea of having regular, reliable revenue is more and more appealing. And while people could learn to build funnels themselves, not everyone has the time to dedicate to doing it well. So, the demand for people who can come alongside their business and help make sure that funnel is amazing and working well is hugely valuable. And this kind of role is far more collaborative. It’s not about being given instructions and feeling like a tech-monkey, it’s about bringing your own strength and knowledge to the table and building something amazing with your client.
You don’t need to deal with launch-zillas
If you don’t like being screamed at 3am on various messaging platforms because someone’s found a typo, maybe launching is not for you. Launching can be like weddings, in that they’re highly stressful and can sometimes bring the worst out of a client. Funnel Pro’s don’t have to deal with launches in the same way (they’re automated and not reliant on immediate ‘must-be-down-now!’ scenarios.) So, you get to side-step the launch-zilla’s too.
Premium service = fewer clients
As you niche down and specialise, you can start to charge a premium. Between $2000 to $10,000 is a normal price-point for building funnels. Imagine having 2 of them a month. 2 lovely clients to work with. That’s all. Plus, this gives you the ability to be more selective about who you choose to work with.
Pro’s
Setting expectations #awkwardconversations
You will need to educate your clients a LOT and set their expectations, right from the start. Funnels are a slow burn and depending on where your client is at in their business, there are a lot of factors that can impact how a funnel will work. So you need to know the realistic numbers your client could be expecting at the beginning of the funnel build and be willing to have those conversations early on.
The other cons I go into in more detail in the episode, so give that a listen. But to give a quick recap here, sometimes the client’s offer itself sucks and no matter how you dress it up, it’s not going to sell, so that takes knowledge and confidence to give them correct advice early on, (and why you need both the execution skills AND the strategy) And there are a lot of different tools to learn and work your way through. But I give you my best advice on how to navigate that in the episode, so you’ll be fine.
The nerd factor
And lastly, you’re going to become infinitely more nerdy.
You’ll hear yourself say things like “Isn’t it amazing that Active Campaign can do [nerdy tech thing here] now?”
But is that a bad thing? Nerds will rule the world eventually.
You’ll be one of us. Welcome already.
