#162: How to launch your course more often without annoying your list

Share Post

Hey guys, it’s Kate here from Hello Funnels, and welcome back to the Doing It Online podcast! Today, we’re diving deep into the exciting world of launches and promotions. Now, you know we’re all about funnels here at Hello Funnels, but I believe that funnels work best when they’re not left to do all the heavy lifting on their own. That’s why I’m a big fan of teaming up funnels with the right types of promos, or what I like to call lazy launches! These lazy launches can work wonders when it comes to building on each other and getting even better results. And today, I want to introduce you to a particularly intriguing type of lazy launch: the secret launch!

Now, hold on to your hats because we’re about to embark on a journey of launch enlightenment! But first, let’s quickly go over the three types of launches out there. And I’m not talking about the difference between a webinar launch and a challenge launch, oh no! We’re going higher, my friends. We’re talking about the big picture categories.

The first category is the granddaddy of them all, the big event launches or promotions. These launches are like a spectacular Broadway show that lasts about six weeks. They involve weeks of pre-launch content, inviting people to workshops, webinars, challenges, you name it! Then there’s the grand event itself, followed by an open cart period for seven to ten days. By the end of it, you’re left feeling like a puddle on the floor. Now, big event launches still have their place, and we might even do one this year. But gone are the days when they were the only way to promote. They’re stressful and risky, especially for those starting out. Often, the return on investment doesn’t match the tremendous effort and resources poured into them.

Next up is the all-list promotion. This one doesn’t involve any paid traffic; it’s all about promoting to your existing audience. It’s broad and goes out to everyone on your list. Think of it as a big wave crashing onto the shore, reaching every nook and cranny. Lazy launches fall under this category, and they’re perfect for those who want to promote without going all-out. It could be as simple as running a webinar with a 72-hour follow-up sequence. Less time, less effort, but still profitable.

But hold on tight because we’ve reached the heart of our discussion today—the secret launch or private promo! Imagine this: only a select group of your audience knows about this promotion. It’s like sharing a secret with your best friends. These secret launches are shorter in duration, possibly just a 72-hour flash sale. They’re designed to target a specific segment of your list that the offer resonates most with. Not only do they require less marketing and promotion time, but they also give your overall list a break from constant offers. It’s a win-win!

Now, I can hear you asking, “Kate, how do I do a secret launch?” Well, buckle up and hit play on this week’s podcast because I’m getting right into the nitty gritty about why secret launches are your new business bestie.

I hope you find this episode super useful! Join me next week for another exciting podcast. Until then, have an awesome week, and I’ll catch you later. Bye!

Wish there was a way you could basically guarantee you would make sales, the second you opened your cart?
