Every week for the month of May, I’ll be handing you a new challenge (or biz experiment) for you to have a go at.
The goal here is obviously to just have fun testing things out and see what works and what doesn’t. It’s a good practice to get into, because testing things is really the only way to know what’s going to be a super-power in your business or your kryptonite.
You can have the best business advice and strategies in the world, but your combination of your skills, business and audience make you completely unique. So until you TEST? You’re not going to know.

Challenge #1 The power of a payment plan
What is it?
A powerful little promo, that’s what. I wouldn’t recommend running it a lot, but in a slow month (or in a challenge) or just if you need a revenue boost, give this one a try.
An example would be if your offer was $997 and you had a 3 month payment plan normally, you could offer that $997 to be paid out over a 6 month or even a 12 month payment plan. So a longer payment period, but smaller payments for people.
Why does it work?
Well, especially during unstable times people can be more conscious of their outgoings, but they still want and need the help that you provide. Offering a longer payment plan can just help people find it more manageable.
But even in a non-pandemic world, it works amazingly. And I’m not actually a scientist, so I don’t know why. But it does. We had a few of our clients give this a go recently and for some of them, it was the only change they made — and they had their best launch ever!
How do I do it?
- Let people know for a limited time only you’ve got an extended payment plan.
- Promote the pants off it.
- Get some new customers in.
- Air-five yourself (I’ll five back in spirit.)
- No set-up, crazy tech or singing + dancing required. (Except maybe on reels?)

There are a few caveats and I go into a few of the things to watch out for with this kind of promotion in the episode so definitely have a listen to that! Nothing to be scared of, it’s still a WIN/WIN, but just so you can go in aware.
