It’s no secret I’ve been geeking out hard on AI for the last couple of years. My superpower in every business I’ve ever built has always been the same thing, using technology to automate the crucial parts so the business doesn’t need me standing in the middle of every little thing. AI is just the best tool I’ve ever been handed for doing exactly that.

But I know the conversation most of you are actually having. You know AI matters, you’ve used it a bit, mostly for writing, and you know that’s barely scratching the surface. You just don’t have time to disappear down the rabbit hole and figure out the rest yourself.

So here’s what it’s actually doing in my business this week, not the theory, plus the one free thing you can set up today.

The one free thing: AI Fridays

Everything is possible with AI now, which is exactly the problem. The question was never “what can AI do,” because the answer to that is basically everything, and it’s a trap. The question is what would be most impactful for your business next.

The system I use to actually answer that is called AI Fridays, and it runs on two rules.

It’s contained. Friday afternoon, one protected block, every week. AI doesn’t get to eat the rest of my week.

It’s sorted by impact, not by fun. I keep a real roadmap of what would move the business most, and I start at the top of it, not at whatever looks shiniest that week.

One focused afternoon, pointed at the right list, compounds into something enormous over a few months.

The three places it’s actually earning its keep

Content. This is the obvious one, and where almost everyone starts. It took the blank page off my plate, the hours of production between having a good idea and having a finished piece. Not the thinking or the opinions, those still have to be yours. The machinery around them.

The backstage. This is my favourite, and nobody makes Instagram content about it. It’s the data you know you should be tracking and mostly aren’t, captured automatically and turned into a dashboard you can actually read at a glance. What it really replaces isn’t the reporting, it’s the guessing, because you can’t know which lever to pull next in your business if you can’t see the numbers.

Delivery. Using AI inside your actual program so clients get support at the moment they need it and get to results faster. Right now this genuinely surprises people and makes a program feel premium. Give it another six to twelve months and it’ll just be expected, which means building it in now is a real, visible edge while that window is still open.

I’m deep in the third one myself at the moment, building something that SCALE members get to use first, and then learn how to build for their own clients.
