TUNE IN : APPLE PODCASTS | SPOTIFY
Right now, while you’re reading this, there are nine different things in my business making sales. I’m not doing any of them. I haven’t touched most of them in months.
Between them, they’ve made multiple sales every single day this year. A different mix every day, but every day.
Why one great funnel still caps you
For a long time I was chasing one thing. One offer, one funnel, one perfect machine that would carry the whole business. I killed some genuinely good offers chasing it, because they weren’t “the one.”
It turns out the offer was never the problem. Having only one way to sell it was, for three reasons.
One way in is fragile. If one thing is carrying your whole business, one bad month on that one thing wobbles everything. One way in also has to be perfect, optimised down to the headline and the price point, which is a standard almost nobody actually sustains. And one way in only ever catches one type of buyer. People don’t buy the same way. Some decide in ten seconds, some take eleven months, and if you’ve only got one door, everyone who isn’t ready to walk through it right then just disappears.
Every year I’ve had real growth has been a year I was making money a lot of different ways at once. Not one enormous thing. A lot of things, quietly stacked on each other.
The nine strategies
At the point of sale
- Ads straight to an offer, the obvious front door.
- The order bump, the small add-on sitting right on the checkout page.
- The in-cart upsell, the natural next step offered after she’s already paid.
Together, the bump and the upsell roughly double the profitability of an offer without a single price rise. Our $47 offer has an average order value of $140.
Straight after the sale
- Coupon codes, used sparingly, matched to the exact next thing someone’s just told you they want by buying.
- Upgrade sequences, which deliver value, help the customer actually use what they bought, and then make the next offer.
- In-course funnels, offers placed inside the program itself, right at the moment they become relevant.
Running underneath everything, all the time
- DM automations, constantly sorting and pointing people at the offer that actually fits them.
- Content funnels, old content still working for you, pointing to a lead magnet or an offer years after you published it.
- Retargeting, a small always-on layer going only to people already showing interest.
None of these work as a pile of separate tactics bolted on wherever. What makes them worth having is how deliberately each one hands off to the next, so nothing feels like a sales pitch and everything just feels like the right offer showing up at the right moment.
